Changed my spark plugs...
Changed the plugs on my F350 yesterday. Got the vehicle in the spring and has 120K kms on it. I took out the old Autolites that were in there. Plugs in cylinders 3, 4, 5 looked as they should in my Haynes manual. The others had slightly more carbon deposits (especially #8), which apparently indicates rich mixture or weak ignition. I have never experienced hard starts, misfiring or hesitation. The exhaust smells as though it might be running rich, but I checked codes and have none. Why would 3 plugs look fine and the others not...could it be bad rings?

The PCV on these motors dumps right into cyl number 8. It's essentially a design flaw that will eventually wreck number 8.
I'd tool around on the new plugs for a while and if you're really worried about it, pull them and see how they look and maybe do a compression test.
