The more I dig around this truck the more I find that the dealer didn't tell me...
Will I was getting ready to put in my aux back up lights, I went in to take off my fuse box and I notice this massive box with ziper ties and tape all over, it had Viper 300 ESP on it. I know Viper makes alarms and starters, is this a starter as well if so how do I go about getting remotes for it because the vehicle only came with a key.
Justin, I don't know much about alarms but I would think you could get the serial numbers off the box and get in touch with Viper. They should be able to tell you what you have and get you some remotes. That could also be part of your starting problems if any of it is still wired in.
I would say that was part of my problem,it is still hooked up from what I can tell. Guess it would help if I had looked at it earlier. So just get the Vin off box and send it to CS at viper.com? When I was putting on my International lettering I also noticed that the truck had pinstriping that had been taken off, it looked like OEM Ford fromthe bits around the door. I have been looking for the Pinstriping but this stuff is difficult to find.
Most dealers have guys that do their pinstriping. My wife had her Tahoe done for $30.00. The guy comes when the dealer calls and we paid him direct. It took about 15mins and looks great. Keep in mind that it is tape and not painted. Also, most paint and body shops do it for about the same price.
Thats really not that bad, I thought it was more up into the hundreds. I have done pinstriping before just on a few trailers we own. I think I'll check out one of my local dealers Wed and see about some Lariat Pinstriping.
