Have they ever worked since you've owned the truck? At what point did they stop working? Has anything been changed or added?

Does anything else not work, like the radio or wipers? Usually when groups of related things go out, a blown fuse or a bad ground are good starting points because when they go bad, they take out everything depending on it.

You need to check the ICVR (Instrument cluster Voltage Regulator and gauge)
with Ignition Key OFF ... attach the wire AT the OIL Pressure sending unit to a GOOD ground.
Turn key to ON briefly and see if Temp gauge PINS to the right.
If it does the ICVR is okay and the gauge is okay.
If it doesn't there a are a few possibilities
The ICVR is attached to the back of the cluster like a 9 volt battery..so you have to pull the cluster out.
