429 pistons will more than likley ruin your engine if used in a 460. 460 pistons in a 429 will give you low compression.

Compression height on the 429 piston is 1.882" while the 460 is 1.76". The 429 piston would sit nearly an 1/8" further down in the cylinder.

Oh, Do the math again. It will end up sticking out of the bore and above the deck .090 causing the valves to slap the top of the pistons.

I thought there was differences. The guy that has them said he intended to use them in a 460. Thanks for your reply.

You are right, Mark. Dyslexic mathmatics from too much eggnog (smile). They'll stick out of the cylinders, not further down inside them.

Hey I do the silly stuff all the time. As long as we have each other to watch the others back we will be fine. Besides ever weld an engine mount in backwards? I did once, you can imagine I am a firm believer in tach weld, walk away for a bit then come back, and look at it to make sure it is right.
