Hey all,
I'm sure I'll catch some flack for asking this, but too bad. Has anyone ever attempted (or seen done) putting a 61-66 ford pickup body on an early 70s Chevy frame? I ask this because my son has a 63 F-100 flatbed that my brother gave to him after running it for many years. The body is pretty good but the drivetrain is pretty well shot and the frame is tweaked a little. I happen to have a very good 1972 Chevy 4x4 chassis and drivetrain that I may never finish installing a body onto. My son would love to have a 4x4 under the old truck from his uncle. What do you'all think? Thanks!
Colby.

2nd, If you can't take your measuring tape and get the answers yourself, you probably couldn't do the job anyways. It takes a lot of measuring and fitting to make a job like that happen. IMHO
Depends, you are going to use a Ford motor, right?
j/k anyway
jowilker hit the nail on the head. A project such as this takes some proficiency in fabrication. You will have to move all of your mount points to accept the Ford body.
And that's just the beginning as I'm sure you can imagine.
As long as you are not in a hurry, this would be an excellent project for a father/son team to take on.
Sell the Cheeeveee stuff and buy a 4x4 Ford of 70's vintage. You will still have to move the cab mounts or fab up a set but most everything else will fit. And when your finished it will be worth something! IMHO!
