Its my sons car..last night the trans started slipping. Sometimes it stays in first sometimes its fine(shifts like it should). When you slow down you feel it downshift ..rather hard. Fluid seems to be full but is pretty black and thin. The car only has 83k on it I think it sat for a few years because the interior shows little wear for its age. So the question is...would a new filter and fluid remedy the problem or is it in need of a rebuild? Thanks for your help.
