I have to ask a question because I can't SEARCH!

Someone please tell me why every single time I need to search for something the "search" button dissapears from the forums? This really makes me get beside myself. So, here's the question that has been asked over and over: Are all 429 DOOE rods Cobra Jet/Super Cobra Jet, or are they regular ole' 429 rods?

I had a set of these rods. They had square-head bolts. I'm under the impression that CJ/SCJ rods have football head bolts, same as the D6VE-AA truck rods. So, not all D0OE rods are CJ/SCJ rods, unless they came with square headed bolts.

Ford79 is right. Base 429 and 460 share the same rod D0OE with square rod bolts. 429 CJ and SCJ use the same cast number rod but have the oval rod bolts.

Oops, just re-read the last line of my post Should read: So, all D0OE rods are not CJ/SCJ rods, unless they came with football headed bolts. Must have been when I was typing.

So, the rods are physically the same besides the different bolts, correct? I plan on getting ARP bolts anyway, but I wanted to know if these rods were good to 6000 RPM's? The bolts have rectangular heads that are chamfered on each side, by the way.

You have the base 429 and 460 rod. The base 429 rod and the 429 CJ rod are the same with the exception of the rod bolt and the bolt shoulder. The CJ rod had a semi-circular cut on the bolt shoulder which gave it more strenght. The base rod just had a stright cut across the shoulder which made it weaker in that area. Some guy's take the base rod to 6000 rpm with good rod bolts. I would use the CJ or D6VE-AA truck rod instead. Just my 2 cents.
