I bought a car at a dealership a few weeks ago and the paper temp tag says Jan -02 -08 . Do I have thirty days from Jan 2nd or is my time totally up on that day? I've been putting it off in hopes of getting the yearly renewal fee as far from Christmas as possible. Oh, these tags and myself reside in Colorado.
Like Dennis said that would be your experation date, I do know around here you have 30 days after the expiration date before the cops will start writing you tickets.
The best thing to do would be to call someone at the DMV, although because of Christmas and New Years they may not be there, maybe you could something for your state online.

Well I sucked it up and went to the Dmv and was happy to find out it only cost me $45.00 for the plates since I used the same ons off my van I traded in. Apparently I got a $75.00 credit for them. -Next year will hurt but I'm good for now!
