well, i got to noticing my tires today, then my back brakes. got to thinking about how i treat the old girl sometimes. then thought about fuel prices....
my new years resolution- drive nice, try to obey speed limit, and quit running wide-open everywhere. i only started this lately (past few months), but i need to stop before i break something, or get a big ticket. i'm defeating the purpose of a diesel- longevity, and fuel mileage. might even turn the old girl down to 60 hp. i just dont wanna break anything, and want her to last a lot longer. i gotta quit driving like i just got my license or something. its crazy. anyone agree? these trucks are only made to hold up under so much stress. i think towing 20,000+ pounds is enough to ask without trying to do all this non-sense. i want to go to the 500,000 mile mark on this truck. it can do it, if i can drive right. i had an epiphany.
i have to agree with the isn't as much fun, but i also agree with the start driving 'er right. i have looked at all the parts i have gone through in the past month and said dang, i gotta drive right!!!!!!! so i turned the programmer to performance instead of extreme and started shifting it at 2200 rpm instead of 2700, 2800, 3000, heck sometimes 3400!!!! i've gone through an IPR out of 10k mod crazyness, fuel line that i can't find anywhere other than cody's shop, something is wrong with my clutch system, FPR screen, turbo is throwing oil, oil drain plug got messed up, got blow by coming outta the dip stick tube, brakes, front bumper, clutch petal bushing, and a set of back tires that were almost new when i bought the truck a little over a year ago and the truck has only gone 12,000 miles since i bought it. so i would say hell yeah, drive it right if you want to or can stand to. its not worth all the parts it will eat. i'm glad i'm not the only one trying to do this... LoL
