5.4 noise

i have a 2001 f350/5.4 that runs rough and has a noise like a small exhaust leak which i cannot pinpoint.help

Could it be a vacuum leak that you're hearing? That could also make it run rough.

check exhaust manifold, i had a hole in mine, also i have seen the bolts on the manifold corrode. Ford now sells replacement copper bolts to prevent this! However i dont think this would make it run rough, just loud

check your spark plugs. you might have one getting ready to blow out. check to make sure they are tight. it could make it run rough if it melts the coil pack boot.
