I feel your pain. I thought I could get my old 48 on the road in a couple of years. It took me five years working summers only since the rest of the year is too cold here....
This “lack of inertia” seems to be partly an age as well as a weather related malady. When we where younger (and a little stupider) we would think nothing of working in a snow bank. I can confirm this, as in my shop I had some very dangerous propane (no natural gas other then farts here) infrared heaters supplemented with a labor intensive wood heater. So the excuse was it is to much effort to warm up the shop, bit the bullet two years ago and purchase two new overhead propane furnaces, toasty warm now, but the new excuse is either I don’t have time or it costs to much to run the heaters! I think we need a name for this lack of inertia / age condition; “baby boomers lazyitess” or somethin’ there is a cure though, its call SPRING.
