hey guys..im new to this site. i gotta 08 f250 super duty fx4. i was looking to purchase some bigger tires and was just wondering what is the biggest you can go without a lift kit. i got the ranchos on there, do i have to change gears or anything. what would be the biggest size i could get away with? thanks!
Generally, 305s are about as big as you can go without a lift. By putting different wheels on and varying the offset you can go wider, but on stock wheels you don't want to get much wider than a 305 without causing problems.
I just put Toyo M/T 35x12.5x18's on 18x9 inch rims on my 08. No rubbing no lift or leveling kit needed. Looks much better than those little stock tires and the 35's add some height to the truck. Makes a world of difference.
Hey, the wheels I went with are a 18x9 with a 4.5 in back spacing. The original wheels were 17x7.5 with a 5inch backspacing. So yes, they stick out farther than the stock tires. I have been trying to get some pics but the camera took a S%**. Sorry. From what I have been told 35's on stock wheels will fit with no rubbing whether you have 18 or 20 inch wheels. I posted a thread back on Dec. 23 or something close to that refering to a leveling kit and 35's. You might want to look for it cause I had several replies and pics sent. Can't remember the title..but it did have leveling kit in there some where. Hope this helps.
Someone said you could fit 37" tires on a stock truck. I have a F350 FX4 with a 2" level kit. I have 33"x12.5"x20", could i fit the 37"x13.5x20" on my truck, or do i need a 4.5"lift.
There is a guy locally to with a 08 with a 2.5" level kit and 37" BFG Krawlers on it.
They are tight, but it looks good and I think he said that he didn't have any rubbing.
A 37/13.50 from Toyo or Mickey or anyone would most likely result in rubbing.
BFGs normally run smaller than others of the same size, so that's why they normally fit.
