quit running while driving

have a 97 power stroke with 5spd tranny was driving it and it just quit and won't restart have white smoke coming out of exhaust I do not have any warning lightscoming on bought my fuel where i always buy it anyone have any ideas as to whatg i should start checking

Welcome to FTE ...

The first thing I would try Would be check all the fuses , Esp #9 & #22

Then maybe a new CPS ,,& go from there....

Sounds like it might be the CPS. Ford just had a recall on there CPS.

Different year , but its in the same place,,, get one from ford...
