I fired up the rebuilt 292 in my '58 F-100 a few weeks ago and things ran well. I've gone out and started it a few more times since without any trouble. I tried to start it a couple of days ago and "nothing". No click, no grinding, nothing.
The battery is good. A visual inspection of the underhood wiring shows everything is where it ought to be.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thanks, Dave
I have two methods:
The best is to use a volt/ohm meter to find the faulty wires or components. If I don't have a meter I use a jumper cable to check each power or ground wire to find the open wire or faulty component. You can start at either end of a circuit. If you find a open wire due to a defective crimp, you may have a potential fault in other ground wires. There are many cheap, crappy wire crimpers being used to install wire connections/terminals. Ground wires attached to metal not cleaned to bare metal creats many grounding malifunctions. Hope this helps. Have a great day, chuck
