I'd just go with a 600cfm Edlelbrock Carb and Manifold

Summit Racing has some nice set ups and they are a sponsor.

Maybe start here ????

And then maybe:

for a manifold..... I know there are a lot of options out there but I'm thinking that's what I might place on top of my 390 once built with a 650-700cfm for me. ;-)

Good luck ... I know the pros will ping in now. :-)

Hey Dj,

I was going through the same think a few weeks ago. Here is what I found works for our FE engines. It coincides with what AJ suggested.
Thanks,

If this is going on a stock(ish) engine then I'd look at something rated in the 500-600 cfm range, no larger. For the manifold, definitely a dual plane that provides power off idle. The Edelbrock Performer is a solid choice. For ease of tuning and overall simplicity I'd recommend an Edelbrock carb but Holley's are great if you don't mind the extra complexity.
