Im tryint to replace my distributor cap, and I accidentally put the wires 180* backwards. So, I need to start from scratch. Where does each wire go on the cap? I need help!!
Thanks I was able to get it using your info. I REALLY appreciate it!! Also, what are some conditions of late timing? Mine carks easy but takes a while to catch, idles very rough and sluggish, and has low vacuum.
I tried using a timing light, but even after sanding and degreasing the balancer, I couldn't find the marks. Are there just lines or numbers written on it? Do you have any pics of the marks so i can maybe find them?
There is a whole bunch of numbers and marks on the ones I am familiar with. And a single pointer mounted on the timing cover. Make sure you put the light on the passenger side front spark plug wire.
ok another question. My dizzy is pretty siezed and I dont want to hit it or force it, any good tips on freeing it up? I already sprayed the base with PB and scrubbed it clean with a wire brush.
I've had several get stuck, only have had luck getting 1 loose. Like you said spray it with a good penetrating fluid, let it soak, tap on it lightly and let it soak some more if needed. A couple of mine made me so mad I just broke them off and repalced them.
If you need to pull it up, put some anti sieze on it.
