I have a quik question, I have a 05 scab stx with the 4.6 , just changed my oil, (mobile 1, 5w20 dumped 5 quarts in ran it a bit, let it settle some, checked it again and it's not on the stick... whats up with that? this is the first fourth change i've done on her, and first time that ever happened. and yes the plug is in( hehehe) no leaks. they we're outta all filters but fram truegaurd, i would know why that would matter though.
Thanks in advance

First Welcome to the FTE . I would double check your oil capacity. My 04 4.6L takes a little over 6 quarts of oil to registar full on oil dip stick.

x2.. My 04 5.4 takes 7qts. Check your manual for proper amounts. If you dont have one go to www.fleet.ford.com and check under the maintenance tab and you will find owners manuals you can get.

My 04 4.6 manual says it takes 6 quarts, and the shop I took it to actually put in 7 and it was right on the full line...

Yup, 6 quarts it is... 5 for the motor, 1 for the filter. Hey 05Edge, 7 FULL quarts? Are you sure it's not overfilled?

I can look again, but I saw the stick. and it was on the max fill line... maybe I need to look again. The guy said that some assembly plants use a bigger pan, now I'm doubting myself. I can say this, if it's overfilled, then I can scratch that lube place off the list. I could just do it myself, but I never have any time anymore!
