New to this Forum - Hope I can get some help.... I am not a mechanic but not a complete idiot either.
My problem is with my 1994 F-150 Extended Cab 5.0 - My rear brakes tend to sieze and have completely locked up. The ABS & Brake Light comes on and at times remain on. I took it to the shop and after new brake shoes, springs, parking brake cables, drums turned, bleeding and rebleeding the problem continues. The shop told me they can not figure it out without just contiuing to guess and replace parts.
The master cylender (SP) shows no normal signs of problems.
how is the adjustment on them, if it is really tight then it woudl cause it to seaze up alot... but i mean, the garage would know that i guess... ( if you jack it up, in netural with the wheels blocked, are you able to turn the wheel by hand?) if not, then it sounds like they are adjusted too much... I always adjust till it just takes hold so that it doesnt turn too freely, but not so much that you cant turn it by hand... just a thought... hope you solve it!
It is possible you have a faulty RABS valve body. It is also possible the rear flex brake hose is not allowing fluid to return from the rear brakes. If possible when the brakes tighten up, opea a bleed screw and see if that wheel then frees .
If the hose wasnt letting fluid back they wouldnt be able to bleed it. You can bypass the ABS pump on the frame rail. Have you tried to pull the brake pedal back when your driving. Had a 80's F150 that did that. Let us know what happens if you try that.
