The 223 is a unique bellhousing, common with only the 262 as far as I know. 1964 was the last year of the 223 and the first year of the C-4. If you can find one of those (good luck) you're in business. If not, search for some posts here, the 48-60 truck section, and on fordsix.com. There are some alternatives but most are for 5 speed manual overdrive conversions. Most are not simple bolt-in conversions.

Manglass is quite correct. The last of the 223 I-6's were mated to the 1st of the C-4's in the Mid-Size Fords, such as the Galaxy. So I wish you the best in locating one of the rather rare Bellhousings, as I've been looking for over 5 years now. If you find two of them, let me know, I'll take the Spare off your hands.
