hey question for you guys,
i just bought a 78 f150 4x4 351m 4 spd and it runs stops fine
but the turning is wayyy loose and it pulls to the right like hell
its driveable but my 79 i had was perfect compared to this i have not checked it as its dark here now and dont have any light but i was just seeing if i can get some opinions on what this could possibly be thanks
Could be worn drag link, worn tie rod ends, gear box needs adjusting, worn C-bushings, radius arm bushings, track bar bushings, sticky caliper could be causing it to pull as well.
ok thanks ya went to the inspection and they said my swaybar is rotted out, front shocks are shot, rear are shot as well as the brackets for the rear are hangin off they rusted off, ha well then ill take a look at the box everything else looked ok so thnx for the reply
Could also be lose wheel bearings. Put it up on jack stands grab the tire top and bottom and see if it has any play in it.
Before you put it up get someone to turn the steering wheel and see if there is anything moving that shouldn't be tie rods and stuff. Also go under the hood and look at the rag joint just above the steering box.
I really hate adjusting the steering boxes.
