alright, im planning my next step with the truck. planning on a regear and dont know if i should go with 4.88s or 5.13s? im running 36x14.50 tsl's and gonna have a mild 390. i'm also going to be buying detroits with the gear change. im thinking the 4.88s will be good for this tire setup, but i'm kind of considering going with the 5.13s
Well most people i know run between a 4:10/4:56 for 33-35 tires. But i would think a 4.88 would be ok for a 36-37. It just depends on if you are driving this on the street alot, size of axels, size of motor, and future plans and upgrades.

im going to be doing mostly mud. its the truck in my sig. i was leaning more toward the 4.88s myself. i'd like to be able to run 40s in the future, i think i can fit them with the lift thats on there now. thanks guys, appreciate the help.
With the 390, the best (manual) tranny ratio will be 1:1.
I would buy the wheels and tires, put them on the truck, drive it for 500-1000 miles to break them in. Then measure the rear tire diameter and gear the rear end so I got 2100 rpms (whatever you want) at 55 mph.
