Does anyone suffer from the strange affliction of recyclitis when it comes to old printers, sewing machines, etc? I have this insane urge to collect these and tear them apart for the "usable parts". I have boxes of steel shafts, pulleys, gears of all sizes, pc boards, nuts, bolts, screws, etc. Nothing is safe - old cordless phones, dead coffee pots, microwaves, etc.
In self defense - yes, i have used some of the salvaged parts. With a miniature machine shop (7X10 lathe, mini-mill, precision drill press, watchmaker's lathe, etc) I find use for many little bits and pieces. And back when I had a decent garage, the same thing happened to stray cars and trucks. Strip 'em, send the carcass to the junk yard.
So, am I suffering alone, or is this a widespread thing?????
im guilty also ive got so much stuff in my shed i cant get in there. somplace under all the junk is 12 big block fords i havent seen them in a year but i know there under there
This is an insidious disease that is extremely difficult to overcome once it has you in it's grip. I have found that more space = more junk. Yes, that's right, I said it. Junk.
Now, the stuff I have is stuff, not junk.
Mine = stuff.
Someone elses = junk.
I think there's a 12 step.........
Some of us have the same affliction, only it's things like trucks, tractors, machine tools.... You oughta see how heavy some of my boxes of 'reusable parts' are!
