How can I tell if my truck is a Cali truck. Is the only difference the injectors or is there more to it? Would the vin # tell me, because mine was made at the Kentucky plant.
if your truck is the same as the first 3 pics then you got one. another way is to pull the ebrake and get the pcm code but that is harder. or you can look at the sticker on the front of the hpop res for you inj code.
Stupid question!
Where is that located? Is it down under the FPR? A picture would help. I looked at the ones from RÖENTGEEP but I can't tell where it is located.
Thanks!
well, the fuel pump on a cali is basically right under the turbo. look behind the fuel bowl and whammo, should be right there on the engine valley. good luck.
Ok mine looks like the one in the picture except it does not have the black disk that says Bosch 401 240 169. Is this what makes it a Cali truck or do I have one?
Then I would venture to say that you dont have a cali truck. Unless someone has replaced that pump before. The only way to tell for sure is to run the vin number.
Thanks guys I will check the fuel pressure to see if it is higher like on the Cali trucks. If not I am going to shim the FPR. What would the sticker on the valve cover say if it was a Cali truck?

There are not stupd questions. You can see a pic in the post of 1997F-350 in the motor right under the turbo
