New guy here

Hello!! Figured I would say hello and introduce myself to my fellow ford truck members in my state. I just picked up my first ford truck, an 85 150 lariat. 351 4bbl, shortbed with 9 in out back. I live in the southeastern corner of the state, and would love to hear from you guys.

Cheers!!

Welcome to the KS Chapter. Through another peice of wood on the fire and set and visit a spell. Lots of things planned for 2008. Hope to meet you at a GTG. We've even had talk of viviting the Route 66 Diner down near Baxter Springs. Guess I need to research that a bit more. And I've been trying to get back over to Garnett, KS to visit some folks. And I think some of the guys will try to get to near Ft. Scott in a few weeks to an Off-Road park.

Thank you guys for the helpful hints and a warm welcome. What is GTG? I have been to the offroad park up north(scott) a few times with one of my pals and it rocks.

Get To Gether. Most times it's just for a meal some place. But we attend vehicle shows, swap meets, parks, and even work parties for truck and home projects.

Welcome, and they are fun! We have prizes, swap stories, swap truck parts, and have had people get locked out of their vehicles. We TRY and have them at different locations, so more people can attend. As Happyjack mentioned some of us will be in fort scott on the 22nd of February. I guess tradition is to eat at some mexican resturant the friday night before. We'll post up and hopefully you can make it.

You should like that ol truck, I got one just like it (except it's a long box ex cab) waiting for better weather to get her up and running again for my youngest daughter. I tell you what, I LOVED that windsor and would take one over a big block any day!!

Terrible thing to say Duane that you would take the Windsor over a BB. I love my 460 except when I have to feed it. LOL

I agree, I would much rather keep what I have than get a 460. Then again I have never cared for big blocks in general, from any manufacture. Big inch small blocks are the way to go.

Cheers!!!

No replacement for displacement I always say :-)... I'm a big block fan, but have a 300 I6 in my truck... Which I wouldn't trade for anything. My 429 in the 63 should do well, the 352 in the 65 does wonderful, the 390 in the 62 does fine, and the 2.2 in the Wifes POS-Cav sux.

2.2 ohv or ecotec? That 429 should cook though. Ahh the good old 352. My ex fiancee's father had an old vic that had the 352 in it. wasn't bad I must say.

Cheers!!

I looked it up once, the 351w "HO" in our trucks puts out only 15hp less than the 460 4bbl in 85!!

Chad, you need to get a plan together so we can get started on the 63!!
