Transmission Problem?

I wasn't paying too much attention to my truck today. I stopped at a red light and as soon as the light turned green, I left like usual. But, after I left the light, I thought there was something wierd. It felt like when I hit the gas, it didn't accelerate.. but I heard the motor rev up. It was like it reved up for a second and didn't move, then reved down and actually moved.
I drove around after that and didn't notice anything funny again, but I don't know if I was just imaging it, or there is actually a problem.
I know I had it in drive, not second or anything like that.

Anyone else ever have a problem like that?

Like I said, I might have been imagining it becuase I was pretty tired and not paying attention.. but I dont know for sure.
I picked up the truck a week ago Friday, and it has 47,000 miles on it

I had that sort of thing happen in my 92 explorer. When it slipped for the first time it did not slip again for a month. Then it would only slip when the engine was still cold and then it started to slip all the time. It just progressed and got worse and worse.

Well I bought it used, right... and it has a 30 day warranty on it. I'm going to have the dealer look at it tomorrow when they replace the stock battery that went bad. What should I demand they do? I don't even know if they will do anything if its not doing it again

Have you checked the fluid?

-is it the right level
-is it the right color

If it's anything but pink(very pink) when you wipe it on a white paper towel ask to have the fluid flushed.

Level and fluid is all good.
Took it to the dealership today, and they wouldn't do anything because they couldn't duplicate the problem.

20 days left on warranty, too. :/

You better do or get something. Obviously that truck has problems.

Is it possible the tires may have spun slightly? Wet pavement? Puddle?

Thought these trannies were pretty stout behind a stock motor?

Well, was the pavement wet or not? If it was, it very well could have been wheelspin.

Does the truck have a receiver hitch? Any aftermarket trailer wiring connectors? Do you know anything about the previous owner, did he pull a heavy trailer? How's the rear shocks and springs, good rebound when you bounce on the rear bumper?

I just started having this problem with my '04 SCrew this week. My symptom is that I have no overdrive on the automatic. When I hit the O/D OFF button, I can keep driving as if nothing is wrong. I have no trailer hitch, no other trailer attachments. I did check my fluid. It was very pink. It may be overfilled, I'm not sure. I have 43,500 miles on mine and I had it since day 1. I did have a garage replace the filter some time ago and all it's had done recently is an oil change.

I think I'm going to get it into a local, reputable transmission shop and see what they say. There goes my Christmas bonus!!!
