I wasn't paying too much attention to my truck today. I stopped at a red light and as soon as the light turned green, I left like usual. But, after I left the light, I thought there was something wierd. It felt like when I hit the gas, it didn't accelerate.. but I heard the motor rev up. It was like it reved up for a second and didn't move, then reved down and actually moved.
I drove around after that and didn't notice anything funny again, but I don't know if I was just imaging it, or there is actually a problem.
I know I had it in drive, not second or anything like that.
Anyone else ever have a problem like that?
Like I said, I might have been imagining it becuase I was pretty tired and not paying attention.. but I dont know for sure.
I picked up the truck a week ago Friday, and it has 47,000 miles on it
I had that sort of thing happen in my 92 explorer. When it slipped for the first time it did not slip again for a month. Then it would only slip when the engine was still cold and then it started to slip all the time. It just progressed and got worse and worse.
Well I bought it used, right... and it has a 30 day warranty on it. I'm going to have the dealer look at it tomorrow when they replace the stock battery that went bad. What should I demand they do? I don't even know if they will do anything if its not doing it again
Does the truck have a receiver hitch? Any aftermarket trailer wiring connectors? Do you know anything about the previous owner, did he pull a heavy trailer? How's the rear shocks and springs, good rebound when you bounce on the rear bumper?
I just started having this problem with my '04 SCrew this week. My symptom is that I have no overdrive on the automatic. When I hit the O/D OFF button, I can keep driving as if nothing is wrong. I have no trailer hitch, no other trailer attachments. I did check my fluid. It was very pink. It may be overfilled, I'm not sure. I have 43,500 miles on mine and I had it since day 1. I did have a garage replace the filter some time ago and all it's had done recently is an oil change.
I think I'm going to get it into a local, reputable transmission shop and see what they say. There goes my Christmas bonus!!!
