A two stage Shift?

A few weeks ago i posted about my 99 f350 7.3 auto, having some possible tc problems. Now the problem has gotten a little worse, but now when it goes to shift mostly from 3 to 4 the tach will drop to about 2000 and hold for a bit until it drops down. It still has a little grind to it when it shifts. I just bought the truck in oct. Looks like new tranny, it was flushed with all other fluids right before i got it. The fluid looks fine. Any ideas?

Have the same problem with 96 250 7.3. Has been like that since day one. (7 yrs ago). Cold weather it wants to just lock up and go. Assuming its a TC thing, but have never had it looked at.

this sounds like the torque converter doing its thing befre going into ock up. its normal. the banks tranny thing made my 7.3 shift much better.

what you may be feeling is the trans shifting and torque lock at the same time
the problem I had was the torque slipping when it went to lock,this was on a recent rebuild and new torque

As long as it don't hurt anything, it doesn't bother me. I thought about buying a new triple clutch tc from WIT.

what I done to mine was put a DP Tuner chip in and it's better than new

You betcha...that Banks Trans Command will def. stop any slippage!! Dang near snaps your neck!! I had one on my old '92 diesel...installed that AND the turbo kit.
