Haven't ever heard of anybody doin it. But i had a 89 fullsize bronco and if you do any heavy wheelin, auot is not the way to go. If you get the front end in a bind the hubs will disengage then when you straighten the wheel back they will reengage. it cost me a couple axles so i changed it over to manual.
A buddy of mine has an 88 F150, (roll-over) and was trying to figure out if could use his disc brake set-up,i dont think that is going to be as easy as I thought. But now that you mention the popping in and out problem, I will stick to jumping in and out of the truck to lockem in! thanks.
I had them on my 96 ranger and I could litterally break them on command. I bet a new set of hubs with the parts manager at my local ford dealership that I could break them both in the grass. I got new hubs and once they installed them they broke one testing them out. I swapped in warn hubs and never had any more problems...even with bigger tires lockers and some motor mods.
