My girlfriend recently rolled her 1997 ford explorer and i am trying to get the temperature sensor and display unit out of the car. I cant find it where would it be and what does it look like?
I know this is of pretty much no help to you, so my apologies.
The temperature sender is typically "cigar-shaped", and on many vehicles located up near the grille area, of course in front of the radiator, etc.
It is very easy to wire into your truck, running the sender is the hardest part. People who swap them into Rangers (quite common), just put the sender in approximately the same location, and wiring them in is a simple, quick affair that, as far as I know, consists mostly of just power, ground, and sender.
Sorry I can't be more specific, just getting into Explorers.
