Thanks I must of over looked that while back when i last checked. I have a 94 f-150 ext cab 4x2 dual tanks and long bed i believe
I personally think that a custom exhaust will be the best. I know i was limited to my options with my bronco, Maby long tubes and a 3 inch Y pipe would be the best? Im not sure, I know if i had long tubes id want true duals also.
You need to have your 02 in a pipe somewhere. They dont necessarily go into the header, but anywhere it can get a reading. Be careful on that kit, make sure the flanges arnt paper thin. Id also get MR.gasket copper header gaskets unless you want to be changing them all the time.
On the trucks/broncos it goes between the 2 pipes. When I did my LT's I put the O2 bung in one of the pipes. I still get the same MPG if I dont beat on it Id get a little better. Ebay does have Y pipes for the shorties. There is no y pipe or x pipe for long tubes. That will have to be made yourself. But it is pritty easy to make.
There are also collector extensions/transition pieces for the headers that have O2 bungs in them and they can be had in bolt on, or slip fit. the length of the sensor lines could be an issue with ong tubes but I believe there are extensions for them as well......Wait does that truck have 3 sensors like my truck or just one? Ive heard of guys putting an O2 in the center of an X-pipe on the rear sensor to run true duals.
I think I have seen some. Mine only has 1 O2. I know I was looking around the other day, on ebay and summit. I know there was 1 that had them, and if you needed the O2 bungs you had to drill them out. The stock one my my truck is under the pagganger door, so thats where I welded the O2 bung into the exhaust.
Pretty much all shortys are built for emissions so they have the O2 bungs. I have not seen a long tube with them. But like I mentioned earlier you can buy short collector extensions with the O2 bungs in them and just bolt them on to the headers. Some times that collector extension is worth some extra gain as well.
Oh, hooker makes a new shorty that has a little longer primarys than most others, are emisions ready, and of a tuned design. You know, if you want emission legal and got the cash for hookers.
