I've researched this abit and think (probably my first mistake) I know what I'm doing. I have the universal flat steel mount for C4 and universal engine tube mounts for the 302. Trying to get things lined up and I am finding that to get the carb mount surface level I need a 1" drop for my transmission mount. The flat mount I have is a 3" and the other option I've seen is for a 4". Anyone else had this issue or have any advice?
I'm considering just getting longer bolts and 2" spacers to hang the actual mount off the bottom end of the C4. Not sure if this is gonna cause issues with stability.
I had similar issues with my C6, I got 1 1/2" X 6" block of aluminum from a local metals supplier from his scraps.(they sell by the LB). and made my own spacer. I haven't had any problems in 1 1/2 years.
I don't remember actual measurements but did as you are considering doing with the longer bolts.
I would start with spacers to find the right size you're looking for. But I would refab the mount, or weld the spacers to the mount to add more stability. If you don't have a welder it shouldn't cost much if you had the spacers made up to bring it to a shop to have done.
Sorry, disregard my above post, I misunderstood your problem and mine was the opposite of yours, I used a dropped xmission crossmember to clear my brake booster and had to lift the tailshaft.
I think I got mine from either T.C.I. or no limit. Maybe that would work for you?

No I think you got it right the first time. I need to lift the tail shaft up 2". The crossmember I have for mounting it has a 3" drop but it would appear I only need a 1" drop. Looks like I'll have plenty of room for a power brake booster under there.
