Hello everyone,
Don't get to do this much with the wife constantly looking over my shoulder.
My 2005 F-250 blew the dash light that lights up the panel around the headlight switch. I can pull the panel out part of the way but its being held on by something. I haven't crammed myself under the dash to see if it has the old style switch were you have to contort yourself to push the button on top of the switch to remove the headlight switch, thus letting you remove the dash panel. Anyone have any information on the panel removal, I surely appreciate it.
Thanks,
dano
Thanks Hootbro,
Looks like I just have to yank on the panel just a little bit harder. I acts like it wants to come out, but it feels like its spring loaded.
Thanks again,
dano
There maybe 10 or so sping tension clip around the whole instrument panel trim piece. You just need to pull the whole trim piece back as one piece and it will pop loose. If you just only try and pop one end, you run the risk of breaking it. Just be aware that in addition to the light switch, there maybe some other connectors depending on your options, that will need to be disconnected if you decide to totally remove the whole piece.
First time is scary but once you do it, you will see it is not that bad.
