Installing power windows/locks

How hard is it to convert to power windows/locks?

I'm looking at this site:
http://www.ford-trucks-power-locks.c...50F250F350.asp

TIA

It's easy if you can find a donor truck with the factory style equipment that was designed specifically for your year vehicle instead of a "generic" kit. Your going to have to wire in the aftermarket kit, why not go through the same troubles and wire in the factory system. But then again, I'm a junk yard crawler to begin with.

The only extra I see with that kit is the keyless entry option. It's not a bad deal, but a factory system would be an easier install. I was so lazy, I just swapped my doors for ones that had PW/PL already installed. I took the harness that connected the doors together, and then ran a power wire from the battery to an extra fuse block with a few circuit breakers in it. The nice part is the windows work all the time regardless if the ignition is on, the bad part is the windows work all the time regardless if the ignition is on, hence it could be easier for thief to get into. I'm pretty sure my redneck paintjob keeps them away though.

The power locks should be easy enough to install, just make sure all the locking components are well lubed and are not binding. I once bought a car that had aftermarket power windows installed. I finally removed them and returned to manual. They were underpowered and the coupler between the gearbox and the original window crank shaft wouldn't stay tight. Seemed to fail just when needed most- in the rain. That was about 25 years ago so maybe the new ones are better. But, I'd look for a donor truck and go factory all the way.
