TSB Question

Hi,

I just purchased a used 2004, F150 supercab (new body style) and every now and then when driving it seems like the driveshaft makes a slip-bump sound when moving.

I've found a TSB: "driveshaft slip-bump on deceleration or acceleration from a stop"

This sounds like the problem so I'm going to get the truck into the dealer however the TSB says" WARRANTY STATUS: Eligible Under Provisions Of New Vehicle Limited Warranty Coverage" But my truck doesn't have any factory warranty left. So if this is found to be the cause will I have to pay for the repair myself?

Thanks,

Krazy

If it had been reported while under warranty you would be covered. I had the same problem on my 05, the TSB looks like a simple fix try it yourself

yep

Ive heard about that problem while reading posts on this site. I know it can be annoying because I have that same problem on my 04 lariat but no one has seem to be able to get a permanent fix. When the truck is brought to Ford they will lube up something in the drive shaft and it will be fine for a few weeks and then the bump/slip will come back. If your truck is out of warranty then there is no chance Ford will do any free maintenance on her. Ford might also say that it is normal and nothing can be done to fix it.
***Regardless of my response, after reading this you should definitely take it to your dealership and see what they can do for ya and then post your results*** Good Luck and welcome to FTE...This is a great site where you can find an answer to almost any ford truck related question.
