boost guage?

hey all, i have a 04 f350 6.0 and am thinkin about installing a boost guage. i've seen 2 different types, electric sender, and hard lined with tubing. what is the better choice? i would think that the manual guage would be more accurate, but the electric easier to wire in. so what is everyone running? thanks

Myself and I believe the vast majority of everyone else is running the electric ones. Yes the mechanical ones are going to be more accurate, however, when you starting talking about tranny temp, water temps, oil temps, I don't like the idea of having to have all that hot fluid running through the cab. Electric is accurate enough to watch out if something bad is going on.

boost is not a hot liquid. it is the amount of air pressure the turbo is putting out.

go with the mechanical gauge.

I didn't say it was, re-read my post carefully, I was using tranny temp, water temp and oil temp as the reasons why I don't consider mechanical. I didn't say that the boost gauge was hot liquid.

No, I gave my opinion on what I would chose over the others and I said that because when you start to talk about going mechanical with the temp gauges that's when it gets(in my opinion) to be more of a concern running the hot liquid thru the cab and electric is accurate enough to suite the general publics needs. I didn't say that the boost gauge was running hot liquid thru the cab. Running hot anything(or in general any type of substance that wasn't initially intended to be in the cab to begin with(thinking of my electric fuel pressure gauge)) that isn't the hot air coming thru the a/c vents, I find to be an unnerving venture and one that is completely unwarantied unless for some reason your application demands extreme accuracy, which the vast majority of people getting gauges for heavy duty trucks don't need unless they are building all out racing trucks.
