Knocking Sound
I have been noticing a knocking sound when I'm driving at slow speeds. While I don't know for sure the sound appears to be coming from the back of the truck somewhere. At normal to high speed I don't hear anything.
It's not from a recent gas fillup because it's been doing this for a while now with several different fillups. What does it sound like it could be?
Is it more of a metallic, clank, clink, tink, ping, or more of a dead/dull sounding, clunk thump, bump????
The latter could be suspension, like shocks or rubber bushings, or exhaust hangers.
The former may be driveline, like U joints often make a ping, or excessive differential backlash might make a clink sound, or loose lug nuts mght make more of a rattling sound.
You could put the rear end up on stands & have someone run the engine & driveline, while you do a walk around, "look & listen".
Just some more thoughts for pondering.

Sure, I'd have to say it's more of a dull clunk or thump type of sound. When I start to speed up though I can't hear it anymore, that could be because the sound of the engine blocks it out, don't know for sure. When I hear it though it definitely sounds like it's coming from the back somewhere.
I'll take the suggestions here and see if I could get a better idea of what it is.
