I have a 06 f150 4.6l. I read that having edge on the truck at level 3 u have to have 91 or higher octane to perform right.. Won't it hurt the engine that's made for 86 only? Just curious

No, the tune in the Edge requires the 91 or better. If the truck is stock, it is tuned for 87 and any higher octane is just a waste of money. It is all how it is tuned, which involves timing and much more.

If you have an Edge, and have a manual, it tells you that you need to bump the timing setting .5 for each point of octane. Since Level 3 comes programmed to run 91 octane, if you run 93 octane, then you need to adjust the timing +1.
