300I short block

I'm ready to purchase a short block for my engine build. The local shops here (Orlando) are asking $900.00 for a short block and $450.00 to install oversize valve seats in my ported heads. I'm supplying the valves, springs, retainers... everything else. Sounds high for the short block and maybe the head work too. What do you think?

what kind of warranty will local shop give? ford gives a 12month 12,000 mile warranty on their rebuild but, it costs about 1300-1400 bucks for a long block. about 900 for a shortblock.
