engine problem

i have a 86 f150 wih a carberated 302. i recently blew a head gasket and it over heated. i put new gaskets on it and the heads didnt looked bad. i started it up and it ran fine until i put it in reverse then it got rough and didnt want to run right. if anybody has an idea of what is wrong it would help alot.

Well a little more info then that would be a little helpful. When you put it into reverse, did you rev it? pops, squirts, pings? Ya might have fouled plugs if you didnt change them.

Could be a lot of things.

Coming to mind at the moment:
-vacuum leak
-maybe the heads or block aren't okay (did you check them with a level and feeler gauge?)
