I have on another project (1930 AA Ford) a set of auxilary helper springs. The factory rating was 1.5 ton. The aftermarket auxilary springs added another half ton capacity. These were made in the early 1930's.
I removed the helper springs and noticed that one of the main leafs is broken on each side of the truck. Can these springs be welded? I know that a spring shop may be able to make a replacement leaf. However, I would like to keep everything as original as possible.
