Earlier today, I tried to replace the taillight/blinker bulb on my 2002 f350. I dropped the tailgate, pulled the 2 small bolts/screws out, but then couldn't get the taillight housing free... It was loose, but it just would not come off. I know this is normally something straight foward and I have done it on other trucks and cars. What is the secret I am missing?
I always take a flathead screwdriver and gently use it to pry the light out. Just don't pry too hard against the bed and chip the paint or put a dent in it. I've never had a problem using this method.
after you remove the screws..pull strait out..do not twist it out or it will break the plastic taps... it does pull hard but if you pull strait and hard it shouldn't break.. before you put it back in..put a dab of grease on the plastic clips and put it back together..that way the next time it needs to come off..she will pull out a lot better..
