question about possible purchase
Hello -
I looked at a 2000 f250 longbed, crewcab, 4x4, 5.4l, auto trans yesterday. I am looking for a little advice. Truck has 116k. Two issues. The 4x4 wouldn't engage. Dash light would indicate it was engaged but front wheels weren't getting power. The hubs were set on auto. Also, during my test drive, I was stopped on a moderate hill and let up on the brake and the truck rolled pretty freely backwards. My '97 f250, auto trans sits just fine on an incline without the brake on. It surprised me that it rolled backwards so freely. Is this a sign of future transmission trouble. It seemed to shift fine. There is a clunk when it's put into gear though.
