Haven't posted in a while cuz I haven't been buying stuff for the truck, but i sold a pit i made in agd,but anyway now that i got money i want to get a 4bbl carb for my 351m.Right now i got an almost stock 351m exept for a mild cam,and headers.Ive been looking into a 4bbl carb and intake combo and I was wondering what combos you guys have been having luck with.
This is in my 77 150 4x4 turning 35s if it matters
You can't go wrong with a Weiand or Edelbrock intake manifold sitting underneath an Edelbrock carb. I'm really impressed with how simple, reliable and easy to tune this carb is. I've got a 600 cfm model.
I plan on using the edelbrock performer 400 intake with the holley truck avenger carb. I heard the holly carbs take quite a bit more "tweaking" to finally tune in but the truck avenger is built to perform on the street while having great offroad performace. It is designed to not overfill and stall out the engine from steeper angles on the trails. I don't have this set up yet but I am rebuilding my 351m now. I have been told by many that this is a good combo to use.

I've heard the same, and have the same parts as you but they're all in boxes in the garage, I'm hoping to install 'em this coming Spring. But I have emssions requirements here and so I got the EGR variant of the Performer 400, picked up a 4V EGR valve from a local junkyard. I've got the 400cid variant of the M block engine, not sure exactly what I want to do with it since it recently began puffing a bit of blue smoke upon startup. It's prolly (hopefully) valve guide seals but I won't really know more until I at least do a compression check. Removing the heads once the intake manifold is off isn't too much additional work. But that leads to the cam & timing chain. And if I'm gonna do that...... and I can see myself with my engine removed and spread out in pieces all over the garage, all for what began as installing a 4V carburetor....
