exhaust vibration

I have been getting an exhaust vibration for about a month now and it is driving me crazy!! I have been all up and down the exhaust bending back the heat shield and making sure it is not rubbing anywhere. I finally checked the downpipe and it is loose on the turbo. Is this normal? the clamp that holds the downpipe onto the turbo is tightened all the way but the exhaust is still loose. Does anyone know where I can get a new clamp or how to fix it? thanks

thats just a metal clamp ,take it off again and redo it! and make sure the flange on the up pipe is on there right!

They are just banjo fittings. Try and put a new locknut on it or double nut it. The vibration and heating/cooling will loosen things up.

Ok, I found the actual clamp at summit.... http://store.summitracing.com/partde...?part=svr-tcf1

It is not just a regular exhaust clamp, and I cant just add another nut to it because that will not do anything. The clamp itself is tightened all the way but the exhaust still moves at the turbo. This clamp looks exactly like the one on there. Has anyone ever had to replace theirs?

Stupid question, are you sure it is a problem? Is there soot coming from the connection?

I am pretty sure it is. Does your exhaust move if you grab the down pipe right next to the turbo?

Like I said, the stocker I could turn the Banjo clamp and there wasn't any soot. I would assume you want it as tight as you can get it, but I don't think it is a precision setup.

Sounds like a bad clamp or possibly installed backwards
I can't remember on these but some clamp fit better one way than the other

There is not soot build up around the clamp. It is like the clamp has stretched and is to big for the exhaust. I did not install the system, it came with the truck already. The clamp is installed so the bottom of the bolt where you would start the nut is facing the front of the truck. It seems like the exhaust should not be able to move with the clamp tight?
