Too Lean
I have taken my truck ( 2003 F-150 ) into auto repair and code said it was too lean mixture. The repair tech said they ran a smoke box test and could not find any leaks. So I thought I would replace the fuel filter myself and see if that would help. If anyone could send me a link on step by step on how to replace FF it would be get and if there is any other ideas on why it would be running to lean.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com

You can try the filter, but the most common problems are either a dirty MAF, or a bad PCV hose elbow (usually the one where it hooks to the rear of the intake manifold).
The filter is on the framerail about under the drivers seat. You will need a fuel line tool to get the lines off of the filter. You will also need to bleed off the fuel pressure before removing the lines or fuel will spray everywhere.
