What trans, code "A"
hey everyone! i just got a 1987 f150 4x4,300 i6. i would like to know what transmission is in it. I checked the decoder on this site and i did the search but I cant find a code for "A". Thanx in advance. This site has always been helpful in the past!!

I am assuming we are Typing about an auto tranny.
What are the shift positions in the guage cluster, and do you have an O/D switch on the dash? If I am thinking of the correct dash setup the O/D switch will be to the right of the steering column.
If you do have the O/D switch then you should have the E4OD (electronic 4 speed overdrive)

oops!! I left that part out. it is a 4 speed manual. I just found out it is a NP435. I found that info at f150online.com, another wealth of ford information!! Thanx for your quick reply though!
