Help with cats

LAST EDITED ON 07-Mar-01 AT 08:08 PM (EST)[p]i have a 1982 f-150 with the 300 and was wondering if i had any cats on it. right in front of the muffler there is a bir round looking thing. Is that it? Maybe im just stupid but i could use some help. If so i went from 235's to 31x1050s and have no power up hill now most of the time. If it is rainy it seems to go up the hills better. i can hold 70 but like to day the same hill 60 - 65. Could the cat be clogged if there is one. Why does it do better on rainy days. Is it just the tires. Sorry so many question but i am just starting to learn about these things and was wondering and i know you guys are very knowledgabl in this area. thank in advance.

Help with cats

I'm not exactly a pro myself but that does sound like your describing the cat.

I would suggest that you get yourself a shop manual. Either a Chilton or Haynes manual should be available at your local book store.

Welcome and good luck
