I was showing my buddy the Edge on my 5.4 and we were sitting in the truck drinking a beer and I decided to reprogram to level 3 and take him for a ride. So i tell it to tune to level 3 start the truck up and throw 5 codes. I cleared the codes, truck ran fine and have not been back since.
Mine did it all the time. I would make a simple change like shift firmness and the thing would throw a code and start acting weird. After sending in my tuner and verifying it wasn't broke I finally sold it. Outside of Level 2 I couldn't really do anything which sucked.
OK, i reprogrammed back to staock this morning to get a oil change. Along with a hard start i thre these 6 codes.
P0600
P1000
P2100
P2105
P2107
U0300
I cleared them and put 200+ miles on the truck, ran fine.
Any ideas?
Why does it start hard after the reprogram? I dont remember it doing that when I first got the Edge. I have been running level 2 for the last 2000 miles.
I've been running and Edge on my 04 F150 FX4 with the 5.4L for 6 months with no problems. It actually helped me with a recent and soon to be resolved issue. The truck was running like crap with no check engine light and the Edge gave me the DTC of a misfiring cylinder. One thing I have learned about the Edge products is that you have to keep them updated through the software. Unless you really know what you're doing don't customize the programming... that's a world of hate waiting to happen. Try an update both software (Lightning) and firmware (Edge itself). Hopefully this helps some. Good luck.
