I was trying to fiqure out where exactly to mount my cb radio, and I was wondering if I removed the stock radio would I be able to fit a cb radio and an aftermarket radio in its' place? Has anyone ever tryed this? I haven't measured it yet but it looks like it might be big enough of an opening.
There was a thread in November that had this exact type deal in it, but I forget who the guy was who had one. Search for CB threads and you should find it pretty easy.
Just make sure whatever brand you get...it has the speaker (unless using an external speaker), is on the front and the mic jack is on the front.
The CB I have is a touch wider than the standard width so I had to trim the edges a little for it to fit in the trim kit. Inside the dash, I had to trim out a flange at the top and the bottom of the dash opening for both to fit....but the trim kit secures the setup by snapping into place against the sides.
Mine is a 99 though.....may want to double check yours if it is a different year to make sure the opening is the same.
