I broke my turn signal switch in my 69 F100 by hitting it with my shoulder while replacing my shifter. The old plastic just crumbled. I bought a new switch assembly from N.P.D. and installed it. All the color codes on the wires are the same as the old one. When I turn on the left blinker everything works normal. When I turn on the right side the flasher clicks very fast and loud and none of the lights work including the dash indicator. I also have no brake lights now. I got a wiring diagram and rechecked the wire locations in the connector under the dash and all are in the right pin location. I haven't pulled the steering wheel back off and checked where they are located on the switch yet.
Any ideas what I could have done wrong? I have about decided the new switch assembly may be defective(miss wired) some how.
Sounds like wiring issue. It's been a few years since put a switch in my '67, but seems there might have been a color change? Can't recall now.
Sounds like there is no wires going to RH lights, as that's why it's flashing fast. When there is a lack of resistance the relay flashes very quickly(usually tell when a bulb is burnt out this way). Since the brake lights are wired thru the t/s switch, that will also cause the loss of rear lights.
You might have the wrong YEAR of switch also? Check the packaging to confirm that you have the right year. There was a difference.
Thanks, I know there was a change in the 69 year run. I took my old switch up to N>P>D> and compared to both versions. The later one matched mine wire for wire except that one wire on my old one was green with a red stripe and the new one is just green. The other wasn't even close to the same colors so that was how I picked.

Dunno if the switch you bought is defective or not, but I DO know that 1969 F100/350's used TWO different turn signal switches.
Both are still available from Ford.
*1967/69 F100/350 = C9TZ-13341-C .. T/S Switch ~ 1969: Use before serial number G30,001.
1969/72 F100/350 = D0TZ-13341-B .. T/S Switch ~ Use after serial number G30,001.
FTE sponsor DIRECT FORD PARTS: Ford suggested retail price for C9TZ-13341-C: $57.09 / FTE member net price: $40.79. (D0TZ-13341-B is the same price)

EDIT: FTE sponsor Green Sales (800-543-4959 = Cincinnati, Ohio) has both these switches. 10 of C9TZ-C, and 2 of D0TZ-B. The price may be less than what Ford charges.
*C9TZ-13341-C also fits: 1965 F100/250 2WD / 1966 F100 2 or 4WD / 1966 F250 2WD

I think my wiring diagram showed which wires were "different" and what to match up to original with, even on my '67. It's been like 4 yrs, so it's kinda fuzzy on details.
