manual to auto

I have a 86 f-250 460 4x4 with manual trans and looking to go auto. I picked up a van with a 460 & c6 auto and was wondering what I needed to make this change, or is it even possible? The c6 came in a 78 van with a 83 460 motor. Doing an engine swap because my 460 is ready for the grave yard. Just wondering what I needed to make the whole swap at the same time.
Any input is greatly appreciated,
Thanks, Rob

If the van was 2wd you will have to replace the output shaft with the 4x4 version which requires tearing the whole transmission apart. Other than that, you could push the clutch pedal to the floor or swap the pedal assembly for and auto setup and get yourself a B&M shifter.
